Remembering Fred Imus
Please share your thoughts and memories of Fred Imus, who passed away August 6 at the age of 69
I keep reading all the beautiful condolences that people are writing about how much a part of their lives were effected by listening to him over the years.
The Imus Ranch Foundation was formed to donate 100% of all donations previously devoted to The Imus Ranch for Kids with Cancer to various other charities whose work and missions compliment those of the ranch. The initial donation from The Imus Ranch Foundation was awarded to Tackle Kids Cancer, a program of The HackensackUMC Foundation and the New York Giants.

Children’s Health Defense joins parents of vaccine-injured children and advocates for health freedom in remembering the life of Don Imus, a media maverick in taking on uncomfortable topics that most in the mainstream press avoid or shut down altogether. His commitment to airing all sides of controversial issues became apparent to the autism community in 2005 and 2006 as the Combating Autism Act (CAA) was being discussed in Congress. The Act, which was ultimately signed into law by George W. Bush in December of 2006, created unprecedented friction among parents of vaccine-injured children and members of Congress; parents insisted that part of the bill’s billion-dollar funding be directed towards environmental causes of autism including vaccines, while most U.S. Senators and Representatives tried to sweep any such connections under the rug.

Don Imus Leaves a Trail of Way More Than Dust
By Michael Riedel - The one and only time I had a twinge of nerves before appearing on television was when I made my debut in 2011 on “Imus in the Morning” on the Fox Business Channel. I’d been listening to Don Imus, who died Friday at 79, since the 1990s as an antidote the serious (bordering on the pompous) hosts on National Public Radio. I always thought it would be fun to join Imus and his gang — news anchor Charles McCord, producer Bernard McGuirk, comedian Rob Bartlett — in the studio, flinging insults back and forth at one another. And now I had my chance. I was invited on to discuss to discuss “Spider-Man, Turn Off the Dark,” the catastrophic Broadway musical that injured cast members daily.

Always looked forward to hearing Fred coming on with Don in the mornings. My heart goes out to Don, Deidre and family in their time of sorrow. Fred will be missed by all that knew him.
Listening and watching Fred and Don banter, laugh and enjoy each other as brothers has been a great joy

Rest in peace Fred Imus. You were one of the funniest people in Radio.
you were a good man fred, a true american. thank you for your service to our country. give my mom and dad a hug for me, you will get a long good with them, they are good people too. RIP
Don and family -- we are so sorry for your loss. We met Fred at the ABX stores in Santa Fe; the old one and then later the one across from the hotel; whenever he was there he would visit with us and everyone and was most pleasant. After we adopted our 3 young kids from Russia we flew back to ABQ to visit with the grandparents & took a detour to the ABX new store; Fred was there and we got a picture of him and the kids in the back room (where cash was ALWAYS welcome!) -- daughter was 5 at the time -- when the pix came back I asked her if she remembered who that was (Fred) -- she could't pronounce Fred but said "that's FRIEND" and indeed she was right.
He was a delight to listen to on the Sirius show and of course your show when he was on. We never missed a sunday morning with Friend and it will never be the same. Our prayers are with you all,

May the sweet memories of Fred help to ease your heartache. I know I will miss hearing his voice telling the oh-so-funny stories of his life!
Fred always had an interesting comment on the happenings of the day. But what I will always remember is that you both said I love you to each other before you hung up. God bless you both.
Stay with us in spirit to comfort us in our loss, then fly off on the wings of snowy white angels to forever peace. We shall all be together again dear friend!

Condolences to the Imus Family. Remember the good times.
This May my husband and I moved from Tucson back home to California. We had been Fred's friend and neighbor for 5 years. I said Goodby to Fred and Dear John and I will always remember Fred's parting words to me when I told him I wouldn't be back to Tucson, he said "Oh, I'll see you again"....Guess its going to be in heaven Fred. Now Fred and Dear John are reunited.
RIP El Paso Flash
I loved the way Fred - on some mornings - would seem to be going along in slow gear and then just when you thought he wasn't into it, he'd drop some wisdom from a perspective that was all his. Then you realized you had just heard the most real thing you were going to hear all day. Thanks, Fred. I'll miss you.
Don,
I am so deeply sorry to learn of your brother Fred's passing. As a long time fan of your radio program, I've always enjoyed when Fred appeared on the show to share some stories often accentuated by his unique humor. He truly will be missed and left this earth much too young. My thoughts are with you and your family.
I was lucky to talk to Fred while he was Out West, His wit and humor made working in the Tucson heat a little more bearable! God Bless You
Fred, you will be missed. Always real, always good to hear from. My prayers to Don and his family.
Dear Mr. Don Imus,
I'm so sorry to hear about your lost. Fred became apart of my family. I'm a former police officer in the Northeast, and every morning we (all police cruisers were tunes into you) and we all listened to "W" NBC and especially Fred's call in segments. I have followed you all these years and will never forget Fred's great segments, and the not so great ones. As a brother of three teriffic brothers, thank you for sharing Fred with us off of you listeners. He lived his life the way he wanted to live. God bless!.
Do you have John?
So sorry for your lost. JP2175
Fred: The last time we shook hands seems like just the other day. We had a time lollygagging around ABE! Thank you again for your trust and help. My staff loved you and you were so good to all of us! I sure enjoyed working with you and being your friend. Great fun knowing you and the funniest years of my life! Great memories live on! Rest in peace.
My condolences to your family.
Sorry to the Imus family. I am a younger viewer of the show and hadn't heard Fred as much as I wish but when I did it was always a classic segment. Brotherhood is a close bond and I am feeling for the I-Man right now. RIP.
I was so sad to hear of The passing of Fred. And I no how much the Iman loved Fred. God Bless the whole Imus family and you're in my prayers.
Loved Fred on Trailer Park Bash and on Imus In the Morning. What a character! Don't forget about us Fred; we will see ya on the other side.
Mr. Imus:
I've ripped on you for things you've said before ("nappy-headed girls") and mentioned that you're not the handsomest man in the world. But like the rest of us, you're human, you're a child of God and you love. So I just want to say that I'm praying to God that you be comforted in your sorrow at the death of your brother, Fred, and I hope you'll see him again in that other world.
God bless you and all the best to you, sir. And I'll be ripping on you again if you say something else whack that I find out about.:)
Love,
Juliette Akinyi Ochieng.
My condolences to the entire Imus family and to all those who knew and loved Fred. I enjoyed his many radio "appearances" on Don's radio show. A very funny man and
in possession of a very fine wit. RIP Fred. The angels are in for some great jokes. We'll miss you dearly, and remember you fondly.
My favorite Fred moment was when the I-Man asked him if he'd watched the State of the Union Address and Fred said he quit watching after the first few minutes when it became obvious Obama wasn't going to resign. I also liked the way Fred and the I-Man always said "Love You" to each other. That should give solace to I-Man at this difficult and sad time.
