Alan Colmes's Post Show Notes
I began by pointing out to Imus that the last time I was on, he posted “Alan Colmes Wants To Waterboard A Cancer Patient” on Imus.com. He immediately blamed this on Julie, and only upon being pressed did he take any personal responsibility for what goes up on the website that has his name on it. As I told Mr. Imus, I’m very glad his treatments are going well and the numbers are down, but his shameless use of a disease to gain sympathy is pathetic. I accepted the I-Man’s groveling and humble apology.
We discussed the dueling speeches of Obama and Cheney. I praised Obama’s presentation, and Imus surprisingly didn’t disagree; and I pointed out that Dick Cheney has political turrets, as he continues what I refer to as his “Save My Legacy Tour”. I expressed disappointment that Obama flip-flopped on releasing torture pictures and hasn’t gone far enough reversing some of the policies of BushCo.
Imus was gracious in promoting my radio show, heard nightly in New York on 1600 WWRL, and stations around the country; In fact, he was so gracious that it’s obvious to me he has not fully recovered, health-wise. I’ll know he’s all better when he once again exhibits the nastiness for which he’s known.
In light of that, for the moment, I’d like to retract my desire to waterboard a cancer patient.
