Alan Colmes Hates Jesus
Alan Colmes took issue this morning with what he deemed an unfair characterization of his most recent appearance on Imus in the Morning .
"The headline on Imus.com was that I wanted to waterboard a cancer patient," said Colmes, clearly disturbed.
We here at Imus.com understand Colmes's displeasure, but to be fair, let's revisit that summary:
"Colmes suggested that since Imus was clearly such a fan of torture, that perhaps he should be subjected to some. "Do you want to be waterboarded?" he asked the cancer-stricken host of the program, who declined the offer."
-Imus.com, April 23, 2009
While the headline might have been harsh, we maintain that it was, sadly, accurate.
As a new feature on Imus.com, guests will be invited to share the experience of an interview with Imus from their perspective. As one of the guinea pigs, Colmes will be sending a vignette today, which excited the I-Man.
"It's not like you have a full day ahead of you," he told the former co-host of Hannity & Colmes, who now hosts a radio show on WWRL 1600AM, but doesn't do much else.
Ever the liberal, Colmes was all over Dick Cheney for running his fat mouth so soon into Barack Obama's presidency. While Imus is no Cheney-lover, he maintains that the big boy had no choice but to defend himself after Obama released the torture memos.
"That's called transparency in government," said Colmes. "The Pentagon did that."
Unbelievable. "No wonder Hannity got rid of you," Imus said.
For his part, George W. Bush has at least given Obama his silence, a respectable move in Colmes's opinion.
"Cheney was the one doing all the stuff!" Imus said. "Bush was busy working out with Condi and going on vacation for 500 days."
Colmes added that Donald Rumsfeld was also busy "doing stuff," including sending Bush triumphant war pictures with biblical passages attached.
"Oh that's great," said Imus. "Why don't we just make the headline today, 'Colmes Hates Jesus?'"
Okay.
