This Isn’t Our Last Love Letter

Dear Don Don,

Way back in 92

I walked into the room and knew

Never felt this way before

I shook your hand while gazing into your eyes

And the feeling grew

As I took a seat I knew

A love that would have my heart

Forever

I knew

Way back in 92

They say love at first sight doesn’t always last or isn’t true

We were the exception to that rule

Our love had no where to hide

A spark set fire

As if this is how the universe started

I never doubted our love or what we could do

Together we grew

Forming a bond everlasting

That became our glue

My euphoria was YOU

I’m eternally grateful for the love and life we shared

For how fortunate we were :

“to have and to hold
through sickness and in health
Til death do us part”

Until we are together again

This isn’t our last love letter

I love you with all my heart and soul

Yours forever,

Deirdre  (Mrs. Hank Snow)

I’m fortunate to have fallen in love with, marry and make a life with the sharpest, coolest, funniest, most rare, bad ass, tender loving, loyal man on the planet, my husband Don Imus.

A True American Hero

I don’t know why it has been so hard for me to write about my dear friend Don Imus.

I certainly know what he meant to me, my family, my charity, my hospital and the millions of fans that listened and loved him for so many years.

I keep reading all the beautiful condolences that people are writing about how much a part of their lives were effected by listening to him over the years.

But what most people don’t talk enough about is what he did for all of us.

In every sense of the word, he was an American Hero. His work with children with so many different illnesses and his dedication to their future was unmatched by anyone I have ever known or heard about.

Besides raising over $100,000,000 for so many causes, he took care of young people for over 20 years in a state where he could not breathe.  Along with his incredible wife Deirdre, he created a world where children were not defined by their disease. That was a miracle! He was a miracle.

I will miss him ever day for the rest of my life.
I was blessed to be a part of his and Deirde’s life.
No one will ever do what he did.
I love you Don Imus - A TRUE AMERICAN HERO

David Jurist

A Tribute To Don Imus

Children’s Health Defense joins parents of vaccine-injured children and advocates for health freedom in remembering the life of Don Imus, a media maverick in taking on uncomfortable topics that most in the mainstream press avoid or shut down altogether. His commitment to airing all sides of controversial issues became apparent to the autism community in 2005 and 2006 as the Combating Autism Act (CAA) was being discussed in Congress. The Act, which was ultimately signed into law by George W. Bush in December of 2006, created unprecedented friction among parents of vaccine-injured children and members of Congress; parents insisted that part of the bill’s billion-dollar funding be directed towards environmental causes of autism including vaccines, while most U.S. Senators and Representatives tried to sweep any such connections under the rug.

Don Imus Was Abrupt, Harsh And A One-Of-A-Kind, Fearless Talent

By Michael Riedel - The one and only time I had a twinge of nerves before appearing on television was when I made my debut in 2011 on “Imus in the Morning” on the Fox Business Channel. I’d been listening to Don Imus, who died Friday at 79, since the 1990s as an antidote the serious (bordering on the pompous) hosts on National Public Radio. I always thought it would be fun to join Imus and his gang — news anchor Charles McCord, producer Bernard McGuirk, comedian Rob Bartlett — in the studio, flinging insults back and forth at one another. And now I had my chance. I was invited on to discuss to discuss “Spider-Man, Turn Off the Dark,” the catastrophic Broadway musical that injured cast members daily.

We never met Fred Imus but if he was anything like the rest of the family we have met, then he must have been a hell of a guy.

I always enjoyed listening to Fred on your show. He was funny and insightful, and he had a great attitude about so many things. It's very sad to know we won't be hearing him on your show. I feel he still had a lot more to say. Sixty-nine really isn't old these days. My condolences to you and the rest of Fred's family.

Just hearing Fred was going to be on the show made my day. A man who didn't say much, but when he talked, you listened. His State of the Union comment still makes me laugh. My prayers to the family, he will be missed.

Dear Don Imus and family,

I have been listening to your show for decades. I love it and loved Fred on it also. Sometimes he was so funny, other times not so much. I could tell that both of you loved each other deeply. To Don and family, I am sorry for your lost, but you had 69 wonderful years together.

I watched your show this morning, August 15th...Your emotions really showed in a way I have never seen before. To loose a best friend and family member is
so difficult. The love you and Fred had for each other was wonderful and will never go away. I hope he will still be part of your show through his opinions, humor,
and favorite songs. He was a bright spot in our lives as well as your life and your families lives. Keep smiling the way Fred would...He is watching YOU :)

I was very sad to hear about your beautiful brother Fred. He was so pure and lovely! He was funny, genuine, smart and above all, such a sweet person. Loved it when he called into your show and it was so apparent how much you loved one another.
My best to you Don....Keep up the great work on the show and one day you and Fred will be together again!

To the Don Imus Family:

Heart felt sympathy goes out to you and your family. I recently lost my sister also. There is a very special love between siblings. Watching you this morning made my heart ache for you. I could identify so much with your loss. Even through your grief, you still made me laugh this morning. Love you for it. You were a great brother and friend to Fred. My prayers are with you and your entire family.

When we posted the first time, I forgot to mention talking with Fred when ordering shirts and hats from the Auto Body Express. He wasn't much for chat, but was always kind and gracious--especially when I called the first time and didn't believe he actually was the one answering the phone!

Do you have any merchandise from the ABE that you could sell? I would be very interested in a denim shirt, as I believe many others would in tribute to Fred.

Again, our deepest thoughts and prayers are with you. I agree with Mr. Lupica, we did lose a friend.

As a long-time listener/watcher, I was distraught to read that Fred passed. Your show was always better when he called in - I'd be late to work if I knew he was coming on because I wanted to hear what he had to say. In addition to his wonderful sense of humor, I loved that he wasn’t inflicted with the ever-popular political-correctness disease (and I started listening in my 20s when I was liberal and am now conservative in my 40s, always appreciated Fred). He was one-of-a-kind and will be greatly missed.

I always loved to hear Freds voice when he called in... I didn't know if he was real when you spoke of his trailer and had a radio show and now know he was real, But it was always fun to listemn to you two. You could (Iman) always tell if someone was intertaining when they are on your show. Fred always fit the bill to the tee and I agree. I just wanted to let you know I can feel your lose, I also lost my best friend and brother a few day before Fred passed. His name was Duane and his nick name was the DUDE. He was only 54. Sorry for your and our lose.

Don,

My sincerest sympathy. The world is a lesser place with Fred's passing. May God comfort you and your family.

Since I don't have satellite radio in my house, I sat in my vehicle yesterday morning, with a bottle of champagne, and listened to the tribute to Fred. I'm used to listening to the Trailer Park Bash when I leave church on Sunday mornings. (Is that ironic, or what!) The tribute was wonderful, and they did such a good job. Fred always had the best records. I feel like I've lost a friend. My prayers are with the Imus family.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Fred always had the best one liners, and jokes. He was a treasure and will be missed.

Fred Imus RIP. The end of an era.

I was deeply saddened to learn of Fred's untimely death. He was a real person with absolutely no pretension and zero phoniness--traits that I admire greatly.
Best wishes to the Imus family.

I am saddened at Fred's passing. Mr. Imus, it breaks my heart to see the pain you are in at the passing of your brother. All I can think to do is give a donation to the ranch in Fred's name. Probably not original, but sent with love.

When I hear of someone's passing that I never met I think "Is this someone I wish I had met?" With Fred it was a no-brainer. Absolutely yes!!! Sorry for your loss I-MAN.

Fred Imus will always be remembered due to his achievements in his personal life, his family life, and his professional life. We miss you now, and we will miss you for the tomorrows to come. RIP
