Remembering Fred Imus
Please share your thoughts and memories of Fred Imus, who passed away August 6 at the age of 69
I keep reading all the beautiful condolences that people are writing about how much a part of their lives were effected by listening to him over the years.
The Imus Ranch Foundation was formed to donate 100% of all donations previously devoted to The Imus Ranch for Kids with Cancer to various other charities whose work and missions compliment those of the ranch. The initial donation from The Imus Ranch Foundation was awarded to Tackle Kids Cancer, a program of The HackensackUMC Foundation and the New York Giants.

Children’s Health Defense joins parents of vaccine-injured children and advocates for health freedom in remembering the life of Don Imus, a media maverick in taking on uncomfortable topics that most in the mainstream press avoid or shut down altogether. His commitment to airing all sides of controversial issues became apparent to the autism community in 2005 and 2006 as the Combating Autism Act (CAA) was being discussed in Congress. The Act, which was ultimately signed into law by George W. Bush in December of 2006, created unprecedented friction among parents of vaccine-injured children and members of Congress; parents insisted that part of the bill’s billion-dollar funding be directed towards environmental causes of autism including vaccines, while most U.S. Senators and Representatives tried to sweep any such connections under the rug.
Don Imus, Divisive Radio Shock Jock Pioneer, Dead at 79 - Imus in the Morning host earned legions of fans with boundary-pushing humor, though multiple accusations of racism and sexism followed him throughout his career By Kory Grow RollingStone
Don Imus Leaves a Trail of Way More Than Dust
By Michael Riedel - The one and only time I had a twinge of nerves before appearing on television was when I made my debut in 2011 on “Imus in the Morning” on the Fox Business Channel. I’d been listening to Don Imus, who died Friday at 79, since the 1990s as an antidote the serious (bordering on the pompous) hosts on National Public Radio. I always thought it would be fun to join Imus and his gang — news anchor Charles McCord, producer Bernard McGuirk, comedian Rob Bartlett — in the studio, flinging insults back and forth at one another. And now I had my chance. I was invited on to discuss to discuss “Spider-Man, Turn Off the Dark,” the catastrophic Broadway musical that injured cast members daily.

Sorry to hear of the loss of your brother. I always enjoyed and looked forward to his appearances on your show. My deepest sympathy to you and your family, Kent.
Fred you will be missed greatly. Stay strong I man as your beloved brother is with the "baby Jesus".
Imus I am sorry for your loss and having listened to your show for 20+ years I feel as thogh I lost a family memebr as well. I will say a prayer for Fred and you, and May he now make God smile as he did all of us.
God rest your sole Fred Imus. The best part of the show was always the interaction between the brothers. From the Friday football picks to mishaps on the Ranch, Fred gave this show natural unforced humor. I also loved his dry humor on a weekly basis on Sirius. You will be missed.
enjoyed many a happy laugh from the start of building the "Imus Ranch" to present. Happy trails Cowboy ! Dick @ Alma, New Mexico
My husband, Bill, and I watch you every morning. We so enjoyed listening to FRED when he was on. We arerealizing in last few days all the things we "missed" about him. Bless your family in this time of sorrow.
I really havent heard Fred since the MSNBC days. I just never was tuned in on Foxbiz when he was on, bounceing back and forth as I do with fox and friends. However, I just loved to hear Fred
. I think he truly loved you and your family, and his affection really was transparent as he razzed you continually." Kiss my ass" seems to be a family motto. I always liked his southwest take on everything, reminding me so much of my own roots.
I thought he would be an okay guy to be with in a foxhole. I remember he owned a jeep dealership...I think. And, I got a kick out of how sophisticated he must actually be without loosing his down home personality.
I wondered who he would be if his brother wasnt famous, and I decided he would be just exactly who he was. The only difference would have been that I would never have been exposed to him, and that would have been a real loss.
I think the world was a better place with him in it.
If the Imus household is not aware that Christ died for their sins to give them eternal life, then I must say this to you now. I hope Fred shared my faith. I would like to meet up with him sometime.
I cannot imagine the knife stabbing grief that holds you in its grip. I pray for you knowing that as time passes, it wont get better. You will just grow strong enough to bear it over time. However, when you least expect it, it will wash over you again. That isnt very encouraging, but we can all hope we have loved ones that have that much of a place in our lives. You were fortunate to have Fred. God bless you all and I pray for all the comfort that his memories can give you. June Estep, Olathe Colorado
Our prayers are with you Don...I know how much you loved Fred because you said it all the time; it was very touching to hear you say that each time you used to said goodbye to him on the phone...A very funny guy and one of my favorite Imus guests...loved his twisted perspective....warped just like mine! He will be sorely missed ;( P.S. Can you imagine the conversation between Fred and Peter at the Pearly Gates lol OMG what I would pay to be a fly on that wall! Joe
My wife and I were so sorry to hear of Fred's passing. Our favorite Fred story was the one about the blonde wife he had who made him the chocolate chip cookies, he said it took her most of the day to peel the "M&M's". Our thoughts and prayers go out to the I-Man and his family.
Condolences on the loss of your beloved brother, Fred. My heart goes out to you. He will be sorely missed.
Fred will be missed by his fans and by all of us who meet him at book signings along with Don . To all of the Imus family we send our condolences.
Now he has all the answers.
Mr. Imus and Family,
I am an avid listener to your great show. How saddened I was to hear of your brothers passing. Another bright light in this world of darkness has dimmed. However, you are assured that you will meet him again in heaven. What a great reunion that will be. God Bless you and your family and may his grace be with you in this time of sorrow.
Thanks for all the laughs!!! Rest in Peace! Thoughts and prayers to the IMan and his family.
Fred was the real deal
"Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me....
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now, I see.

RIP, My thoughts and prayers go out to you. You made a lot of people smile, we enjoyed you while you were here. Don, I hope you and your family remain strong through this. It's always a tragedy to lose someone. Old rails never die, they just make a seniority move to a better place. God Bless.
Fred will be sorely missed. I remember laughing at his appearances more than any other guest, especially the "missing cantaloupes." I know what it's like to lose a brother, and it's always before their time.
Only time can repair the hole in your heart. My sincere sympathy.
Sorry for your loss Imus. I enjoyed every minute of your dialogue with your brother. You always said ,before you hung up,"I love you " Good man gone too soon.
Fred

You are a better man than your whimpy, spoiled, drug dropping brother Don.
