A Slightly Less Than Happy Hour This Morning For Deirdre Imus
Deirdre Imus has not been shy with her emotions lately, first openly flirting with Sean Hannity on his show last week, and then telling her husband this morning how much she “loves, loves, loves” Conservative radio host Mark Levin.
To prove his point, Imus played a clip from this past Friday’s “Hannity,” where Deirdre, as part of the Great American Panel, teased Sean about his weight. Imus observed, “The sexual tension was jumping off the screen!”
But Deirdre coyly protested that she was merely being honest with Sean, whom she said she loves in the same way the I-Man does. Whatever that means.
Tonight, tomorrow, and Friday night, Deirdre will co-host the Fox Business Network “Happy Hour” program from 5-6pm EST, live from the Bill & Bear Bar in the Waldorf Astoria Hotel. Since she is married to an undeniable broadcast legend, Deirdre would no doubt reap the benefits of her husband’s advice, support, and wisdom. Right?
“So what happens tonight when you walk into that den of thieves, and they make you look like the chump that you are?” asked Imus, who, by asking such a question, was ensuring his wife’s entry into unfriendly territory.
Deirdre, however, has full faith that her co-hosts Cody Willard and Rebecca Diamond will not hang her out to dry because it would make them look bad.
Few things would make Deirdre look worse, however, than if her husband, who has not seen the inside of a bar in more than 20 years, showed up to support her tonight.
“Two drinks, and I’d be on the phone with the escort service and my dealer,” Imus confessed.
One of the guests on “Happy Hour” tonight will be Bob Garrett, the CEO of Hackensack University Medical Center, where Deirdre’s Environmental Center for Pediatric Oncology is based. Beginning next week, they’ll partner with Operation Goody Bag to launch a program called “Kids Love Kids,” the goal of which she explained this morning.
Operation Goody Bag, launched after 9/11, has so far sent more than 125,000 brown lunch bags stocked with treats to soldiers fighting overseas. Now they’ll work with Deirdre’s center on “Kids Love Kids,” which will provide similar goody bags to children suffering in Haiti. Once on the ground, the bags will be dispersed by a Catholic missionary service where Bill White sits on the board.
“The first 500 bags are paid for, but we need donations,” said Deirdre. “For four dollars, you can send a goody bag to a child in Haiti.”
