Remembering Fred Imus
Please share your thoughts and memories of Fred Imus, who passed away August 6 at the age of 69
I keep reading all the beautiful condolences that people are writing about how much a part of their lives were effected by listening to him over the years.
The Imus Ranch Foundation was formed to donate 100% of all donations previously devoted to The Imus Ranch for Kids with Cancer to various other charities whose work and missions compliment those of the ranch. The initial donation from The Imus Ranch Foundation was awarded to Tackle Kids Cancer, a program of The HackensackUMC Foundation and the New York Giants.

Children’s Health Defense joins parents of vaccine-injured children and advocates for health freedom in remembering the life of Don Imus, a media maverick in taking on uncomfortable topics that most in the mainstream press avoid or shut down altogether. His commitment to airing all sides of controversial issues became apparent to the autism community in 2005 and 2006 as the Combating Autism Act (CAA) was being discussed in Congress. The Act, which was ultimately signed into law by George W. Bush in December of 2006, created unprecedented friction among parents of vaccine-injured children and members of Congress; parents insisted that part of the bill’s billion-dollar funding be directed towards environmental causes of autism including vaccines, while most U.S. Senators and Representatives tried to sweep any such connections under the rug.
Don Imus, Divisive Radio Shock Jock Pioneer, Dead at 79 - Imus in the Morning host earned legions of fans with boundary-pushing humor, though multiple accusations of racism and sexism followed him throughout his career By Kory Grow RollingStone
Don Imus Leaves a Trail of Way More Than Dust
By Michael Riedel - The one and only time I had a twinge of nerves before appearing on television was when I made my debut in 2011 on “Imus in the Morning” on the Fox Business Channel. I’d been listening to Don Imus, who died Friday at 79, since the 1990s as an antidote the serious (bordering on the pompous) hosts on National Public Radio. I always thought it would be fun to join Imus and his gang — news anchor Charles McCord, producer Bernard McGuirk, comedian Rob Bartlett — in the studio, flinging insults back and forth at one another. And now I had my chance. I was invited on to discuss to discuss “Spider-Man, Turn Off the Dark,” the catastrophic Broadway musical that injured cast members daily.

Don Imus & Family
I am very saddened at the news of Fred's death. I have only one brother and I can't imagine being without him. May God's peace be with you and your family. I will miss hearing Fred's spots on the show, I always use Fred's quote when I purchase a new gun "I 've got all the guns I need, but, I don't have all the guns I want". God Bless you all.
A longtime fan

We will miss you very much Fred, you were a ray of sunshine for Don's show. Every time that I heard that you were coming up, I made the effort to listen to you. Fred represented and loved the Southwest and all its greatness. GOD bless you and a sincere sympathy for Don and the entire Imus family. My entire family is very saddened by his passing.
Funny Guy, God Bless, Fred
Very funny man. One story I remember was Fred buying a salad at a Wendy's, taking it home then misplacing it. He thought he found it but it turned out to be a salad he had bought 4-5 days earlier-----wilted salad leaves, rotting tomatoes. Incensed, he calls up the Wendy's location and gives them a piece of his mind by telling them "they had a helluva nerve serving such junk". When Don asked him if he apologized after findiung his fresh salad, he told him no----that it would serve as a good warning not to sell wilted salad. RIP Fred, one of a kind.
Its a sad day - I am so sorryto hear about the loss of Fred Imus. What a treasure he was! My heart goes out to his family and friends. He will definitely be missed by many and never forgotten - one of a kind.

RIP Fred. I loved you on the radio, and had the great pleasure of meeting you at the ABX stores in Santa Fe on a couple of occasions. I'm wearing the Fred for Mayor tee shirt you gave me in your honor tonight.

I am stunned by the news of Fred's passing. I live in New Mexico and have a spcial place in my heart for the Imus brothers because of a couple of personal connections..My thoughts and prayers are with all of the family. Fred, you were great and I'll miss your corny jokes. May you rest in peace.
Fred's appearances on the show always brightened my day... I'll never forget two legged Fred peeing on the head of poor four legged Fred. But the part I'll always remember most vividly is the "I love ya" at the end of every appearance.
While I mourn Fred's passing, my heart goes out to those closest to him. Thoughts and prayers......

So much fun, love, insight, kindness, decency, and humor taken from us too soon. God bless you, keep you, and protect you.
Imus Family sorry to hear the news on the Nightly News. It was shocking and as a 30 year fan makes me feel a family member from across the country has passed. My rememberance too is Fred's stories expecially one about a salad being found on his desk, not sure how many years ago he told the story but was the funniest story I ever heard and the fans MUST have broken a rib in laugher. God Speed and stay strong. Continue your family's dream in his name. Bless you and I will always be a fan.
Rest in Peace,Fred. You left us way to soon. I always eagerly awaited whenver Fred was going to call in. It was often the funniest part of the show. My thoughts & prayers are with Don, Deirdre, Wyatt and all of Fred's friends & family. Now he can go meet up with Four Legged Fred and piss on his head once more for old times sake!!!
