Remembering Fred Imus
Please share your thoughts and memories of Fred Imus, who passed away August 6 at the age of 69
I keep reading all the beautiful condolences that people are writing about how much a part of their lives were effected by listening to him over the years.
The Imus Ranch Foundation was formed to donate 100% of all donations previously devoted to The Imus Ranch for Kids with Cancer to various other charities whose work and missions compliment those of the ranch. The initial donation from The Imus Ranch Foundation was awarded to Tackle Kids Cancer, a program of The HackensackUMC Foundation and the New York Giants.

Children’s Health Defense joins parents of vaccine-injured children and advocates for health freedom in remembering the life of Don Imus, a media maverick in taking on uncomfortable topics that most in the mainstream press avoid or shut down altogether. His commitment to airing all sides of controversial issues became apparent to the autism community in 2005 and 2006 as the Combating Autism Act (CAA) was being discussed in Congress. The Act, which was ultimately signed into law by George W. Bush in December of 2006, created unprecedented friction among parents of vaccine-injured children and members of Congress; parents insisted that part of the bill’s billion-dollar funding be directed towards environmental causes of autism including vaccines, while most U.S. Senators and Representatives tried to sweep any such connections under the rug.
Don Imus, Divisive Radio Shock Jock Pioneer, Dead at 79 - Imus in the Morning host earned legions of fans with boundary-pushing humor, though multiple accusations of racism and sexism followed him throughout his career By Kory Grow RollingStone
Don Imus Leaves a Trail of Way More Than Dust
By Michael Riedel - The one and only time I had a twinge of nerves before appearing on television was when I made my debut in 2011 on “Imus in the Morning” on the Fox Business Channel. I’d been listening to Don Imus, who died Friday at 79, since the 1990s as an antidote the serious (bordering on the pompous) hosts on National Public Radio. I always thought it would be fun to join Imus and his gang — news anchor Charles McCord, producer Bernard McGuirk, comedian Rob Bartlett — in the studio, flinging insults back and forth at one another. And now I had my chance. I was invited on to discuss to discuss “Spider-Man, Turn Off the Dark,” the catastrophic Broadway musical that injured cast members daily.

This is a loss felt everywhere. Fred always proved he was a quality, stand up guy. We share the pain the Imus family feels
I will really miss Fred both on the Imus show and on sirrius xm.. A great sense for music and a great person. I never forget that appearance on Don's show when he asked "hey Fred did you see the president's speech last night. and when Fred said well I watched it for a couple minutes and when I saw he wasn't gonna resign I turned it off. the way he delivered that line I cracked up for hours!

Losing your Brother is losing your Best Friend. The love between Fred and Don was always apparent. God Bless them both and their family's
I always enjoyed his candor and how you never knew what kind of mood Fred would be in on a given appearance. He never tried to be something he was not. He had many careers and lived many lives. and seemed to take everything in stride. I always admired the way Fred was able to go which ever way the wind blows.I can only imagine the stories Don has about Fred that he cannot tell on the radio. Fred was the real deal and did not have a phony bone in his body.
I was so sorry to hear of the passing of Fred. I am a longtime listener and viewer of Imus in the Morning. My sincere condolensces to Don and the rest of the family
Dear Don
Even though you think all North Carolinians are hicks and rubes, I still love and watch your show. I lost my 42 year old younger brother in 2005 to sudden cardiac death. We were very close, like you and Fred were. You have my sincere sympathy at the loss of your brother. I can honestly say that I know what you are going through. God Bless you and the family. Long time listener. I-Man, so sorry for your loss. The love was obvious whenever you and Fred talked. He will be missed, but will be remembered.
Gruff, well conceived exterior masking a wholly sensitive individual who, between the lines, reflected on much of what life has to offer all of us. Lessons, he seemed not to choose to give us but by examples and off the wall narrative, we all got the point....if we were really listening. The lines of his writings cut to the bone and gave us a simplified look at situations we would all experience. Bless him for the smiles he gave us. No doubt he's resting in peace with his pooches. Give me a man who loves his dogs and receives the unconditional love back from them and you know a good soul resides within.
My husband and I always enjoyed Fred's calls. The banter between Fred, Don and Charles was always priceless. My favorite Fred story was the one about the Wendy's salad. Rest in peace, Fred.
Dear Imus,
I am so sorry to hear about your brother Fred. I always enjoyed when he was a guest on your show. Fred was a funny, charming guy with a good heart. You could just tell. When you two signed off at the end of your chat, the" I love you's" were real. You were lucky to have a brother like Fred. Same goes for him. Deepest condolences to you and your family.

My husband and I have watched and listened to your show for many years. Fred's phone calls and appearances were always a quirky change of pace. He always made living in a trailer sound like a good and simple way to live. His jokes about his exes struck a cord with many of us who have them. His humor will be missed. Our condolences to you and your family.
R.I.P. Fred, as a listener for along time, You will be dearly missed by All. Condolences to the Imus Family.
Long time listener. To me Don and Fred sounded alike and Don should have had Fred fill in for him in those days when Don wasn't showing up for work and perhaps Don wouldn't have been fired as often. The brothers shared their sound and their great sense of humor and take on life. I will miss Fred.
I will miss Fred, what a character! He always had a unique take on any subject, and didn't have a phony bone in his body. I loved his book, where he kept pointing out the magic of soap - like it was some new invention. I'll miss the days of four-legged Fred, the Auto Body Express, and the Trailer Park Trash. Rest in peace F-man.
Always loved the mornings with Fred and Don. Thinking of all friends and family of Fred.
Always looked forward to Fred's appearances on the Imus show. Also, listened at times to his satellite show. Most sincere condolences to all the family and friends. Was glad to see Fred mentioned by Brian williams on the NBC nightly news, complete with picture.

I just learned from Brian Williams. I know he is in a good place. I am hoping brother Imus is doing well with this tragic news Hearts go out to him and his family. Remember to breathe.
My sincere condolences Mr. Imus. I have been a fan of yours since you were in Cleveland, Ohio. I loved it when you had Fred on the show. It was one of the funniest parts of your show. He was a riot. That clever humor and the love you both had for each other. He will be greatly missed by more than just your family, but by your extended family as well. God Bless you and give you peace in this time of sorrow.
