This Isn’t Our Last Love Letter

Dear Don Don,

Way back in 92

I walked into the room and knew

Never felt this way before

I shook your hand while gazing into your eyes

And the feeling grew

As I took a seat I knew

A love that would have my heart

Forever

I knew

Way back in 92

They say love at first sight doesn’t always last or isn’t true

We were the exception to that rule

Our love had no where to hide

A spark set fire

As if this is how the universe started

I never doubted our love or what we could do

Together we grew

Forming a bond everlasting

That became our glue

My euphoria was YOU

I’m eternally grateful for the love and life we shared

For how fortunate we were :

“to have and to hold
through sickness and in health
Til death do us part”

Until we are together again

This isn’t our last love letter

I love you with all my heart and soul

Yours forever,

Deirdre  (Mrs. Hank Snow)

I’m fortunate to have fallen in love with, marry and make a life with the sharpest, coolest, funniest, most rare, bad ass, tender loving, loyal man on the planet, my husband Don Imus.

A True American Hero

I don’t know why it has been so hard for me to write about my dear friend Don Imus.

I certainly know what he meant to me, my family, my charity, my hospital and the millions of fans that listened and loved him for so many years.

I keep reading all the beautiful condolences that people are writing about how much a part of their lives were effected by listening to him over the years.

But what most people don’t talk enough about is what he did for all of us.

In every sense of the word, he was an American Hero. His work with children with so many different illnesses and his dedication to their future was unmatched by anyone I have ever known or heard about.

Besides raising over $100,000,000 for so many causes, he took care of young people for over 20 years in a state where he could not breathe.  Along with his incredible wife Deirdre, he created a world where children were not defined by their disease. That was a miracle! He was a miracle.

I will miss him ever day for the rest of my life.
I was blessed to be a part of his and Deirde’s life.
No one will ever do what he did.
I love you Don Imus - A TRUE AMERICAN HERO

David Jurist

A Tribute To Don Imus

Children’s Health Defense joins parents of vaccine-injured children and advocates for health freedom in remembering the life of Don Imus, a media maverick in taking on uncomfortable topics that most in the mainstream press avoid or shut down altogether. His commitment to airing all sides of controversial issues became apparent to the autism community in 2005 and 2006 as the Combating Autism Act (CAA) was being discussed in Congress. The Act, which was ultimately signed into law by George W. Bush in December of 2006, created unprecedented friction among parents of vaccine-injured children and members of Congress; parents insisted that part of the bill’s billion-dollar funding be directed towards environmental causes of autism including vaccines, while most U.S. Senators and Representatives tried to sweep any such connections under the rug.

Don Imus Leaves a Trail of Way More Than Dust

Don Imus Was Abrupt, Harsh And A One-Of-A-Kind, Fearless Talent

By Michael Riedel - The one and only time I had a twinge of nerves before appearing on television was when I made my debut in 2011 on “Imus in the Morning” on the Fox Business Channel. I’d been listening to Don Imus, who died Friday at 79, since the 1990s as an antidote the serious (bordering on the pompous) hosts on National Public Radio. I always thought it would be fun to join Imus and his gang — news anchor Charles McCord, producer Bernard McGuirk, comedian Rob Bartlett — in the studio, flinging insults back and forth at one another. And now I had my chance. I was invited on to discuss to discuss “Spider-Man, Turn Off the Dark,” the catastrophic Broadway musical that injured cast members daily.

Great humorist like Will Rogers. A book of Fred's quotes would be great to support the ranch and keep his memory alive forever.
I will surely miss his call in's and his rugged American face. The photo of him they are showing is Americana.
All our best to the families and friends that knew him personally. Peace
PS. Just before you hung up with Fred, you two exchanged "I love you". I got a lump every time.

Don, Deirdre, & Wyatt, I took the book "two guys, four corners " out of the book case today. Wonderful memories. Heartfelt sympathy to all.

Don, We know how much you will miss your brother. He always made us laugh when he was on with you and you could tell how you two loved each other. We know you will miss him.
~~~~Perhaps they are not the stars, but rather openings in Heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know that they are happy.
May looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow.~ ~
Our condolences to the I-man and family.
Don and family; I have been a regular, if not daily listener since 1979.
If I got out of the wrong side of the bed , it's because I missed the show that morning.
As one of the many cast of charcters on the show, Fred brought his own unique take on issues and the popular culture.
I will truly miss him. God rest his soul, and God Bless Don et al.
dr. Don Imus - I am a very long time listener and was in total shock when I turned on the radio this morning and heard the awful news about your brother's passing. My deepest condolences to you and your family. Fred was a "hoot" when you had him on and there's no question of the love between the two of you. I still have my Auto body Express coffee mug and my black and red Autobody Express cap;. I just had to take it our and give it a brush off in memory of Fred Imus.
Sincerely,
Lady J
miss him
My husband watches your show every morning on FOX. He has enjoyed watching and hearing you for many years. We were deeply saddened upon hearing of the death of your brother, Fred. We lost our oldest son in January of this year in the same way, he died in his sleep. I feel that is such a peaceful way to go. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family in the days ahead.
Regards,
Anne
Without question, some of my favorite parts of the I man, was Freds appearances and stories about cars, dogs, Phyllis and who knows what. I still wear my Auto Body Express t-shirts and my denim work shirt with Freds name over the pocket. Fred will be missed..
The most memorable and affecting thing that I will never forget is the way that Don and Fred always said goodbye with "I love you".
I started doing it with my own brother and it has transformed our relationship and brought us closer like nothing else ever has.
I will also always hold dear the respect, support and dignity that Don always showed to Fred.
I owe you both a great deal. May God comfort you and your families in your loss.
With Deepest Sympathies and Appreciation
I'm so sorry for your loss, our loss. Fred was larger than life and he was so down to earth. You never knew what he was going to say next. I think that was part of his appeal. He kept you listening, because he could be so unpredictibly funny as he put his sence of life into his humor. He made us all laugh, even though some of the things he said sounded rediculous there was always a tinge of truth into his banter. We will all miss him dearly. I can't believe it, I always thought you would go first Don. It just goes to prove only the good die young. lol Very sorry for your loss. We all know how much you loved Fred and what he meant to you. He meant allot to us as well and we will miss him dearly.
Fred made a difference. Thinking of him brings a smile to my face and a good feeling to my heart. He has given a great deal to all of us.
Please accept our condolences on the passing of your brother Fred.
We are also sorry that Fred never got to have that date with Megan McDowell.
Our thoughts are with you and your family.
My heart is broken for you and your family. Brothers are such a gift and your love for each other was very clear. I loved to hear him on your show!! Especially the Obama resignation thing. You are your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Imus family and team. Fred brought many a laughs when he was on the show. My favorite story was the one about when one of his dogs went to the neighbor's house and "took care of" one of the birds.
Being an old Florence,Arizona boy,and now living in Salt Lake for 30 years, it is always a pleasure to hear Fred in Tucson,where I grew up. God bless all you folks and thanks for being in our life. FRED.
I can only echo the sentiments of the people who've written before me - I am very sorry to hear about Fred's passing. He always brought a lot to the program, even when the I-Man said he didn't bring much. The cantaloupes, the old vacuum cleaner through the window story, his dogs, his football picks, and his outlook on life were all valuable portions of my morning routine all these years. He will be missed greatly. Thank you Imus, for allowing Fred to be part of our listening pleasure..
When my husband and I knew Fred was going to be on the show we made a special point to watch. Fred was a FB friend and I enjoyed looking in on him and reading his posts. He made me laugh and smile a lot! I was so sad when I heard about Dear John, and now Fred is gone. He will be missed by many, many. Take care of his four precious horses (I now you will of course). Our thoughts are with all of you. RIP Fred.
Dear Imus family:
What can I say but this is so sad because he was so loved. I loved when he came on the show-you probably got higher ratings when he called in.
Fred always reminded me of a man who could smile at the world and laugh at himself.
