Laura Ingraham Not Very Good at Hiding Her Feelings on President Obama
Following a few moments of her requisite Nancy Pelosi impersonation, Laura Ingraham, whose new book The Obama Diaries comes out in July, wondered why it has taken “the dinosaur media” so long to catch on to the Obama administration’s incompetence.
“The idea that nine days into this disaster on the Gulf coast—nine days it took for this administration to say that this was an issue of national significance,” said Ingraham, a nationally syndicated radio host and Fox News contributor. “Within 24 hours, down there in the Gulf, the people of the Gulf somehow understood that this was going to be potentially a catastrophic loss not just for them, but for America.”
She marveled that President Obama had time for frivolous activities like a hiking vacation and an interview about the NBA playoffs but dragged his feet on addressing the massive oil spill still gushing in the Gulf of Mexico after a BP oil rig exploded more than a month ago.
“No matter what your political affiliation is, we have the most inexperienced person to have ever sat in the Oval Office,” Ingraham said of Obama. “He never ran anything. He went from state house to the U.S. Senate for a drop-by. He went basically from the street corner leafleting to running the biggest government and the most powerful military in the world.”
“We have natural disaster after manmade disaster happening,” she added. “I don’t see the level of responsibility or, frankly, the passion required to get the job done.”
Ingraham doubts BP will fix this problem, as the Obama administration is hoping, and she’s not interested in waiting 60 to 90 days for a report on the incident from Obama’s bipartisan commission.
“By 90 days, we will have seen one of the most beautiful, pristine, gorgeous parts of the United States of America befouled with oil, and perhaps turned into a dead zone for our lifetime,” she said.
A former Supreme Court clerk to Justice Clarence Thomas, Ingraham was most likely rolling her eyes when she told Imus, “I’m a huge fan” of Obama’s nominee Elena Kagen.
“Love what she did with the military at Harvard!” Ingraham joked about Kagan not allowing recruiters on the Harvard Law School campus while she was dean because she disagreed with Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell. “But, by the way, she’s really pro-military.”
Ingraham raved about her kids, now ages 5 and almost 2, and then Imus asked the devout Christian if she was still down with Jesus.
“Who?” said Ingraham, initially unable to hear the I-Man. On realizing her mistake, she added, “I thought you were talking about something down in Arizona on the border.”
