This Isn’t Our Last Love Letter

Dear Don Don,

Way back in 92

I walked into the room and knew

Never felt this way before

I shook your hand while gazing into your eyes

And the feeling grew

As I took a seat I knew

A love that would have my heart

Forever

I knew

Way back in 92

They say love at first sight doesn’t always last or isn’t true

We were the exception to that rule

Our love had no where to hide

A spark set fire

As if this is how the universe started

I never doubted our love or what we could do

Together we grew

Forming a bond everlasting

That became our glue

My euphoria was YOU

I’m eternally grateful for the love and life we shared

For how fortunate we were :

“to have and to hold
through sickness and in health
Til death do us part”

Until we are together again

This isn’t our last love letter

I love you with all my heart and soul

Yours forever,

Deirdre  (Mrs. Hank Snow)

I’m fortunate to have fallen in love with, marry and make a life with the sharpest, coolest, funniest, most rare, bad ass, tender loving, loyal man on the planet, my husband Don Imus.

A True American Hero

I don’t know why it has been so hard for me to write about my dear friend Don Imus.

I certainly know what he meant to me, my family, my charity, my hospital and the millions of fans that listened and loved him for so many years.

I keep reading all the beautiful condolences that people are writing about how much a part of their lives were effected by listening to him over the years.

But what most people don’t talk enough about is what he did for all of us.

In every sense of the word, he was an American Hero. His work with children with so many different illnesses and his dedication to their future was unmatched by anyone I have ever known or heard about.

Besides raising over $100,000,000 for so many causes, he took care of young people for over 20 years in a state where he could not breathe.  Along with his incredible wife Deirdre, he created a world where children were not defined by their disease. That was a miracle! He was a miracle.

I will miss him ever day for the rest of my life.
I was blessed to be a part of his and Deirde’s life.
No one will ever do what he did.
I love you Don Imus - A TRUE AMERICAN HERO

A Tribute To Don Imus

Children’s Health Defense joins parents of vaccine-injured children and advocates for health freedom in remembering the life of Don Imus, a media maverick in taking on uncomfortable topics that most in the mainstream press avoid or shut down altogether. His commitment to airing all sides of controversial issues became apparent to the autism community in 2005 and 2006 as the Combating Autism Act (CAA) was being discussed in Congress. The Act, which was ultimately signed into law by George W. Bush in December of 2006, created unprecedented friction among parents of vaccine-injured children and members of Congress; parents insisted that part of the bill’s billion-dollar funding be directed towards environmental causes of autism including vaccines, while most U.S. Senators and Representatives tried to sweep any such connections under the rug.

Don Imus Leaves a Trail of Way More Than Dust

Don Imus Was Abrupt, Harsh And A One-Of-A-Kind, Fearless Talent

By Michael Riedel - The one and only time I had a twinge of nerves before appearing on television was when I made my debut in 2011 on “Imus in the Morning” on the Fox Business Channel. I’d been listening to Don Imus, who died Friday at 79, since the 1990s as an antidote the serious (bordering on the pompous) hosts on National Public Radio. I always thought it would be fun to join Imus and his gang — news anchor Charles McCord, producer Bernard McGuirk, comedian Rob Bartlett — in the studio, flinging insults back and forth at one another. And now I had my chance. I was invited on to discuss to discuss “Spider-Man, Turn Off the Dark,” the catastrophic Broadway musical that injured cast members daily.

Vinny Forras Has The I-Man's Support. For Now.

Vinny Forras, a firefighter who worked at Ground Zero in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks, is a resident of Ridgefield, Connecticut. He’s also a lifelong Republican who decided to run for his Party’s nomination to take over the U.S. Senate seat about to be vacated by I-Fave Chris Dodd.

“You already look like a Senator,” Imus told his dapper guest. Lucky for Forras, Imus already secured him a phone call with Connecticut’s other sitting Senator, the Independent Joe Lieberman. He made Lieberman promise this wouldn’t be a “Hollywood deal” where promises are made and never carried out.

Grateful, Forras said he’s running for Senate because he thinks this country is in an emergency. “No matter what party you’re in, that’s how it seems,” he said. “America needs CPR.”

Being a firefighter, he would know. Like any good aspiring or current politician, Forras pledged to cut spending once in office, which made Imus skeptical. “Everybody, for as long as I can remember, talks about cutting spending,” he said. “No one ever does.”

One solution to that problem, in Forras’s view, would be to impose term limits on all members of Congress. “These guys are getting too comfortable there,” he said, adding that if elected, he’d serve a maximum of two terms. “If you stay too long, absolute power will corrupt absolutely.”

He suggested managing the American government like most families manage their households. “You know there’s a certain amount of money coming in, and that’s all you can spend,” he said.

Major change is heading to Washington, DC, Forras predicted, with people like longtime Congressman Bart Stupak announcing today that he’s going to retire. “Fellow patriots will answer the call,” he said.

Forras was turned on to the idea of public service when he was trapped for three days underneath the rubble of a secondary collapse at Ground Zero. “It’s about doing something with your life that takes care of others, and shows who we are as humans,” he said. He and his wife Monica founded the Gear Up Foundation, which donates firefighting equipment, training, and hope to firefighters in the U.S. and around the world. “You realize the most noble of causes is not about making money,” he added.

Unfortunately, political campaigns are. To donate to Forras’s, visit Vinny For Senate, or text “vinny” to 59559. He doesn’t know how it works, but he doesn’t really need to.

Imus thanked his heroic guest for stopping by, and would be delighted to support him as a candidate for Senate. “But,” he said ominously. “We’ve got to see some indication that you’re going to win.”

Hello, Don!

I know Vinny Forras. I think he has some good qualities, however he has made public statements to the effect that he is the only conservative pro-life candidate running for the U.S. Senate in Connecticut. The statement is incorrect! As can be observed at my campaign website at www.ethanbookforussenate.org, I am a conservative pro-life candidate. I place particular attention to the biographical information, the Campaign Platform, my Candidate Position Statement on Roe v. Wade, and my announcement speech of February 25, 2010. Regarding abortion, I believe that Roe v. Wade was decided incorrectly because there were not sufficient facts, that is there was not a preponderance of evidence, for a federal court to overturn a Texas abortion statute. Also, while I recognize a woman's limited right to privacy, such a right should be considered regarding abortion together with consideration of the privacy rights of the fetus and the father. Regarding term limits, I have specifically proposed 18 years for a senator and 16 years for a congressman (among other points regarding Congressional reform). In addition, I proposed that the term of office for a Representative be extended from 2 to 4 years. This makes much sense. Further, if one reviews my letter of January 9, 2010 to Atty. Gen. Blumenthal which it also at the website, one can see that I have been engaged with Mr. Blumenthal in a manner that I have several very effective tools for defeating him.

I welcome your review and comments!

Regards,
Ethan Book

P.S. My campaign mission statement is "constitutional integrity and individual freedom with global focus".
