Remembering Fred Imus
Please share your thoughts and memories of Fred Imus, who passed away August 6 at the age of 69
I keep reading all the beautiful condolences that people are writing about how much a part of their lives were effected by listening to him over the years.
The Imus Ranch Foundation was formed to donate 100% of all donations previously devoted to The Imus Ranch for Kids with Cancer to various other charities whose work and missions compliment those of the ranch. The initial donation from The Imus Ranch Foundation was awarded to Tackle Kids Cancer, a program of The HackensackUMC Foundation and the New York Giants.

Children’s Health Defense joins parents of vaccine-injured children and advocates for health freedom in remembering the life of Don Imus, a media maverick in taking on uncomfortable topics that most in the mainstream press avoid or shut down altogether. His commitment to airing all sides of controversial issues became apparent to the autism community in 2005 and 2006 as the Combating Autism Act (CAA) was being discussed in Congress. The Act, which was ultimately signed into law by George W. Bush in December of 2006, created unprecedented friction among parents of vaccine-injured children and members of Congress; parents insisted that part of the bill’s billion-dollar funding be directed towards environmental causes of autism including vaccines, while most U.S. Senators and Representatives tried to sweep any such connections under the rug.
Don Imus, Divisive Radio Shock Jock Pioneer, Dead at 79 - Imus in the Morning host earned legions of fans with boundary-pushing humor, though multiple accusations of racism and sexism followed him throughout his career By Kory Grow RollingStone
Don Imus Leaves a Trail of Way More Than Dust
By Michael Riedel - The one and only time I had a twinge of nerves before appearing on television was when I made my debut in 2011 on “Imus in the Morning” on the Fox Business Channel. I’d been listening to Don Imus, who died Friday at 79, since the 1990s as an antidote the serious (bordering on the pompous) hosts on National Public Radio. I always thought it would be fun to join Imus and his gang — news anchor Charles McCord, producer Bernard McGuirk, comedian Rob Bartlett — in the studio, flinging insults back and forth at one another. And now I had my chance. I was invited on to discuss to discuss “Spider-Man, Turn Off the Dark,” the catastrophic Broadway musical that injured cast members daily.

None better. Rest and enjoy but watch Don from above.
Your humor will be missed.
Fred was an is a joy. Perhaps now he has found his cantaloups...
Sorry for your loss. I enjoyed Fred when he called in to your show. One of the many funny stories, that was so funny, was when he left his teeth on his lap and got out of his truck and ran over them. I laughed until tears came. God bless you and your family.
We'll all miss Fred, his unique narrative on issues of the day, those wild stories of all his critters, a man down to earth with simple needs, but seemed content. I too have a Auto Body Express wardrobe which will remind me of Fred for a long time to come. Our condolences to the Imus family.
I ordered my first t-shirt from the "Auto Body Express" 1-800-272-1957 and to my surprise Fred answered the phone. He was charming and sweet on the phone and I will always remember him fondly.
Don and family, I'm so sorry for your loss and will miss his Fred's appearances on your show. No more Fred (the dog) ate the parrot stories!
I remember back around 2000 I was at Hackensack Medical Center (Cancer Diagnostics Equipment Sales Specialist). I was on line in the Lobby coffee shop when Fred walked in. He introduced himself and the asked what we all thought of the coffee and pastries. I don't remember much of the conversation but he was a warm genuine man. I was shocked on Monday to hear of his passing...my condolences to the entire IMUS CLAN...

This past weekend I was surfing the Web when for some reason Fred Imus' name entered my thoughts and I decided to Google him. I decided to learn more about him and who he really is as a person and a man. Then on Monday morning I heard he had passed. I was a little freaked out I have to admit, but at the same time I was glad that I got to understand and know Fred as an man, gentleman, and entertainer...and of course let's not forget a brother and uncle.
Rest in Peace Fred...
Funniest Fred? How about the time he lost his Wendys salad under a pile of laundry, called the restaurant to cuss them out for sending him a rotten salad, then realized he was eating the salad that had been under the clothes. Like Don, I don't think he had a phony bone in his body. I feel like I've lost a member of my family. Love ya bro. Peace out.
I've listened to your show for years and the appearance by Fred never let me down. The humor that you guys have always made me hurt. I will miss hearing him being on the show and I'll always appreciate you guys telling each other "I Love You". I've got a brother that I always tell that too. He tells me also and that's something that will always be cherished. I can't imagine how hard this is for you Don Imus but you are well thought of in this house and will be thinking of you and family.
I loved that every time Don hung up the phone with Fred he said "I love you Fred." It always made me smile.
Went on to your web sight to see why you were not on Fox Business. So sad to hear of Fred's death. God Bless the Imus Family and may he rest in peace. He was so down to earth
Mr. Imus.... I enjoyed the many years of bantering between Fred & yourself. The loss leaves a void for your family, your staff and all your listeners.
May the Man above, watch over you, Dierdre & Wyatt.
