Remembering Fred Imus
Please share your thoughts and memories of Fred Imus, who passed away August 6 at the age of 69
I keep reading all the beautiful condolences that people are writing about how much a part of their lives were effected by listening to him over the years.
The Imus Ranch Foundation was formed to donate 100% of all donations previously devoted to The Imus Ranch for Kids with Cancer to various other charities whose work and missions compliment those of the ranch. The initial donation from The Imus Ranch Foundation was awarded to Tackle Kids Cancer, a program of The HackensackUMC Foundation and the New York Giants.

Children’s Health Defense joins parents of vaccine-injured children and advocates for health freedom in remembering the life of Don Imus, a media maverick in taking on uncomfortable topics that most in the mainstream press avoid or shut down altogether. His commitment to airing all sides of controversial issues became apparent to the autism community in 2005 and 2006 as the Combating Autism Act (CAA) was being discussed in Congress. The Act, which was ultimately signed into law by George W. Bush in December of 2006, created unprecedented friction among parents of vaccine-injured children and members of Congress; parents insisted that part of the bill’s billion-dollar funding be directed towards environmental causes of autism including vaccines, while most U.S. Senators and Representatives tried to sweep any such connections under the rug.
Don Imus, Divisive Radio Shock Jock Pioneer, Dead at 79 - Imus in the Morning host earned legions of fans with boundary-pushing humor, though multiple accusations of racism and sexism followed him throughout his career By Kory Grow RollingStone
Don Imus Leaves a Trail of Way More Than Dust
By Michael Riedel - The one and only time I had a twinge of nerves before appearing on television was when I made my debut in 2011 on “Imus in the Morning” on the Fox Business Channel. I’d been listening to Don Imus, who died Friday at 79, since the 1990s as an antidote the serious (bordering on the pompous) hosts on National Public Radio. I always thought it would be fun to join Imus and his gang — news anchor Charles McCord, producer Bernard McGuirk, comedian Rob Bartlett — in the studio, flinging insults back and forth at one another. And now I had my chance. I was invited on to discuss to discuss “Spider-Man, Turn Off the Dark,” the catastrophic Broadway musical that injured cast members daily.

Maybe now you can yell your fat son and your arrogant wufe
To shut up. All three of you are disgusting.
I met Fred in 1997 while passing through NM. He was a great guy, a class act, and my thoughts go out to his family.
We were so saddened to have read of Fred's passing on Imus's website. We loved to hear Imus, Fred, and the whole gang talk and carry on. The discussions were real and frank, yet so entertaining.
Fred, may you rest in peace, we will miss you forever. Sincere condolences to The Imus Family and may happy memories sustain you all.
Pat and Dennis
I liked Fred better than anyone else on the show. Haven't been able to listen to Don since.
Dear Don:
I've been a fan since the '70s. I don't get Fox Business on my Verizon account, but I today, 4/3/2012 read about your brothers' passing. I am so very sorry. He was very funny and his remarks were so right! You and your family are in my prayers. Mary
Fred,

fred the one and only was is one of the best guest on hope to hear more of best of fred heard him first 15 years ago will be missed
I was saddened on hearing about Fred's passing. I always looked forward to Fred's visits. Sometimes he was funny ,sometimes he had nothing but you had to love Fred. I have Fred and Don's book of photographs and the text is laugh out loud funny. Regardless of how disgusted the I man sounded you knew there was a great love between Don and his brother. I am so very sorry. Thank you for sharing Fred with us , we will never forget him. I never had a brother but if I did I would like him to be like Fred or the I man. We have seen Diedre become more of a personality on the show , we have seen our little man grow into a rodeo star . Thank you Don , I do not have a family ,one son ,in Nevada ,far away. So each morning the Imus show is my family, it is like a fireplace to the settlers on the plains. Sometimes they had a log on the fire even though it was not cold. They just wanted it for the warmth . That is what you have provided many of your listners. Bless Fred ,bless you , but know he is always part of your heart.
I miss Fred.on your program. His suttle sense of humor was so refreshing and different. Rest in Peace in Texas dear friend. You brought laughter and wisdom to many radio listeners!
I listoned to the I man for many years - hang in there I guy, life goes on I lost a daughter 5 years and I still greed - but again life must go on. Please accept my sorrow for you and your's
I listen to your show every morning. I am a grandmother and have a daughter and two beautiful grandchildren. I know how much you love your family and I relate to that. I also know that the love you had for your brother was rare. I loved how every time you hung up the phone after speaking with him you said "I love you". Those are the most precious words one can hear. My grandchildren say that every time they hang up the phone and I love it. Fred would want you to be happy with your family so be happy and remember all the goods things about your life with him. That is the one way you would reall honor his memory. You are a good man and he knew it but the one thing that stays with me is that you made sure everyone knew he was also a good man. Jay
Always enjoyed Fred when he was on. Too bad Don got scared and replaced him with Al Sharpton.
My old Autobody Express shirt is torn. Will you be like L.L. Bean and give me a free replacement?
watching a horse race on a sturday

missin me some fred today as the ponys start to run
You always knew what you were getting with Fred. He shot straight and wasn't interested in fame, just what was best for the USA and he said it with a smile or a joke! He and Imus had a language all there own. You never knew what they were saying, but you knew they cared a lot more than the words they spoke. Even now when listen to the show, I catch myself wondering if Fred will be on today, but then I remember the Iman's loss. Our prayers are with you (The Imus Family, Friends and the Ranch). May you be blessed greatly today!
Mr. IMUS, We visited the auto body express many yrs. ago. never got to see Fred however we still have the shirts. we can still see Fred comming to NY getting out of the limo. We wish we could have had a brother like Fred. Our prayers are with you and your family.
Loved Fred when he was
on your show, but what I loved more was hearing you Imus saying...I love you Fred after every call...God bless you Imus.
Long live Imus - Fred and Don!!!!
"Did he resign yet?" Gone, but not forgotten!

First of all, HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAREST IMUS!!! Oh, YES! Please play the cut of Fred talking to Dagen's sister, "Megan." If it is too soon for you, I understand.... I'm still praying for trailors in Heaven where I visit Fred and we laugh about trying to "push" a fat Megan through his trailor door. I miss him, too, Imus. I feel sad that you can't pick up the phone and talk to your brother. I know you will see him, again. Just not too soon, Okay? I record the show and watch everyday. I fast forward through the business parts except for Dagen, of course. I love YOU, Bernie, Lou, Connell, Dagen, Warner, Tony, AND ROB! Thanks for all the laughs. Can't wait to her Fred's voice, again!

Doris
